Seacoast's First 3T MRI has arrived!

April 12, 2012

Seacoast’s  Regions First 3T MRI Coming to Portsmouth Regional Hospital Outpatient Imaging Center at 155 Borthwick Avenue

When your doctor needs highly detailed precise images to diagnose your health problem the new 3T MRI can help!

As part of its ongoing commitment to providing quality patient care, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is pleased to announce the Seacoast’s first 3 Tesla High Resolution MRI. The system will be available early this fall at the outpatient imaging center, just down the street from the hospital. MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is a non-invasive procedure used to visualize the structure and function of the body, relying on a magnetic field to produce detailed images. The 3T MRI system offers substantial benefits for patients: including more open space which reduces anxiety; and reduced exam times.
With high resolution MRI, the radiologist can see patients’ anatomic structures in far greater detail than with conventional MRI at lower magnetic field strengths - allowing for a more precise and definitive diagnosis and in many patients earlier disease detection.
