Ethics Committee
The Ethics Committee at Portsmouth Regional Hospital is composed of members of the healthcare team and members of the community. The purpose of the committee is to assist the healthcare team, patients and family members in finding solutions to medical dilemmas that are difficult to resolve. The committee offers the opportunity to meet and talk about the problem, allow for a thorough discussion and consider possible solutions.
Any member of the healthcare team, patient or family member may request a meeting with the Ethics Committee. A meeting can be requested by speaking with any staff member. The Ethics Committee liaison can also be contacted during business hours at 433-4889. All information discussed during the Ethics Committee meeting is considered confidential. The committee welcomes the opportunity to be of assistance to patients and families.
