"We have a cohesive, energetic staff here who goes the extra mile to get people the care they need. Knowing we've made a difference in someone's life keeps us all going."

- Behavioral Health Services Clinician

We help people in crisis say "YES" to life...and "YES" to the work of recovery.

  • Adults and adolescents come to Behavioral Health Services in need of intensive, focused help for a wide range of emotional, psychiatric, and substance abuse issues.
  • Patients frequently arrive in crisis, referred by a physician, therapist, or family member who recognizes their need for a safe and highly structured environment.
  • At the time of admission, we conduct a preliminary assessment to determine a treatment plan that meets the individual's needs.

Treatment programs are personalized.

We provide treatment to help patients work through acute distress and self destructive behaviors associated with conditions such as:

  • Depression
  • Suidical Ideation
  • Anxiety & Phobias
  • Substance Abuse
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • BiPolar Disorder
  • Borderline Personality Disorder

People who come to Behavioral Health Services often feel desperate and overwhelmed, angry and distrustful. Our staff understands that pain. We work hard to make them feel comfortable and respected, supported and not alone.

Inpatient treatment provides short-term stabilization.

We provide a secure environment where the patient can work intensively toward individual goals. The priorities of inpatient treatment are:

  • Crisis stabilization
  • Building coping skills
  • Helping to transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment

Each patient is assigned a clinical team to work with them during their stay.

During their stay, each patient is assigned an entire team of specialists who works with them on a personalized treatment plan designed to get them back on their feet. The team typically includes:

  • A psychiatrist
  • A clinical social worker
  • Nursing staff
  • Program clinicians

The hospital stay is structured, therapeutic and focused on making healthy choices.

Treatments tailored to the needs of each patient help them to:

  • Reestablish positive relationships
  • Use new coping skills at home and at work
  • Develop a stronger self-concept

We offer two specialized treatment tracks.

Within the Inpatient Services Program, we offer two specialized tracks that are used alone or in combination as determined by the clinical team.

The Chemical Dependency Program includes:

  • Medically supervised detoxification
  • Therapeutic inpatient and outpatient services
  • Groups focused on recovery

Our General Psychiatric Program provides stabilization and treatment planning for people in acute psychiatric crisis. The Behavioral Health staff evaluates and adjusts medications and works with the patient's physician, therapist, and other community resources to provide a safe and supportive return to the community.

Collaboration with Self-Help Groups

Patients are encouraged to attend self-help group meetings, including AA, NA, DRA and Al-Anon. Patients with co-occuring disorders are guided to groups that accomodate these issues.
