Philosophy and Accreditation

Our comprehensive approach to behavioral and emotional healthcare coupled with our connection with community resources, assure patients the best chance for continued support and success. Patients in crisis are stabilized in our inpatient facility and then transition smoothly to other services in the community when they are ready for discharge.

Our goal is to return patients to a healthy living standard by tailoring treatment to the individual needs of each patient. This approach helps patients reestablish positive relationships, use new coping skills at home and work, and develop a stronger sense of self that will help them handle life's challenges.

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Interdisciplinary Approach

Family members play an important role in each patient's treatment, and PRH recognizes this by offering meetings with families and assistance with after-care planning.
