There is never a good time to have a medical emergency. When you or someone you love is sick or injured and needs immediate attention, you deserve prompt, expert medical treatment from caring people who also respect your time and your feelings. For both major traumas and minor emergencies, Portsmouth Regional Hospital’s Emergency Center is an outstanding place to be treated.

The PRH Emergency Center is fully staffed, 24 hours a day with Board Certified Emergency Physicians and nurses who are specially trained and certified in trauma and advanced cardiac life support. With two doctors and a nurse practitioner on duty during peak hours, you won’t spend a lot of time waiting.

The Chest Pain Center responds to emergency cardiac cases, responding quickly to stop heart attacks in progress and minimize damage to the heart.

Our outstanding orthopedic surgical staff is immediately available to treat sports injuries, falls and childhood accidents, in addition to complex traumas.

For non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, our Fast Track Emergency Service is a convenient, timesaving option.
