Occupational therapy is designed to help people develop or recover skills for daily living and return to ordinary activities at home and at work. Our therapists work with individuals affected by accidents, injuries and physical, mental, developmental and neurologic conditions.
Occupational Therapy Treatments & Services
At the Portsmouth Regional Hospital Center for Rehabilitation and Wellness, we offer one-on-one services from licensed occupational therapists who evaluate your unique needs and create a customized program to help develop your independent living skills such as bathing, dressing, eating and home management tasks. Services are tailored to specific health conditions, including stroke and neurologic and orthopedic.

Certified Hand Therapy
We offer certified hand therapy services, including customized splints. Our certified hand therapist manages conditions such as fractures, tendonitis, amputations, nerve-related issues, impingements, sprains and strains, wounds, scars and pain.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy
We provide a full suite of developmental and therapeutic services for children through our Children's Rehab Center.
Adaptive Equipment and Assisted Technology
As part of our continuum of personalized care, our therapists can recommend adaptive equipment, including wheelchair selection and seating, and assistive technology such as alternative communication devices. We train patients, family members and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment.
