Christopher M. Terrien, III, MD, joins Portsmouth Regional Hospital’s cardiothoracic surgical staff
PORTSMOUTH, NH - Portsmouth Regional Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Christopher Terrien, III, MD, to its cardiothoracic surgical staff. Dr. Terrien specializes in cardiothoracic surgery, as well as complex mitral and tricuspid valve repair and reconstruction. Dr. Terrien's office is located at Coastal Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, 333 Borthwick Ave., Suite 402, in Portsmouth, NH.
Dr. Terrien received his undergraduate degree from Connecticut College in New London, CT, followed by the completion of his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. While there, Dr. Terrien served as chief resident of surgery and completed a research fellowship in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. In addition, Dr. Terrien completed a cardiothoracic residency program at Yale New Haven Hospital where he served as the administrative chief cardiac resident.
Dr. Terrien is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Terrien has more than 10 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience, and also specializes in coronary artery bypass grafting, including off-pump and multi-arterial; minimally invasive aortic valve replacement; trans-arterial valve replacement (TAVR); aortic aneurysm repair; and ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Terrien enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, hunting, fishing, and spending as much time outdoors as he can.
