Palliative Care
Palliative Care
Palliative care is a special kind of care that focuses on improving the quality of life for people coping with chronic illness. This care addresses the whole patient – not just the body, but the mind and spirit as well. Portsmouth Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Services are available to patients to help them manage pain, symptoms or side effects of treatment, while enhancing their emotional well-being. Our Director of Palliative Care works with all hospital departments to ensure a coordinated plan of care and team approach in which patients and their loved ones are active participants.
