Portsmouth, New Hampshire – Portsmouth Regional Hospital was recently recognized by The Joint Commission as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® during 2013 for achieving excellence in performance on accountability measures for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care.

Only 37% of hospitals nationally achieve this distinction. Portsmouth is one of seven hospitals in New Hampshire to be recognized as a Top Performer and one of only four acute care hospitals in the state to be recognized for these four measures.

The Joint Commission is the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. The Top Performers program recognizes hospitals that attain excellence on accountability measures, related to evidence based care for certain conditions. Inclusion on the list is based on an aggregation of accountability measure data reported to The Joint Commission during the previous calendar year.

Portsmouth Regional Hospital and sister hospital in Derry, Parkland Medical Center are part of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Both hospitals are included among the Joint Commission’s new list of Top Performers on Key Quality Measures® released November 13, 2014.
