Suicide hotline in Portsmouth
PARS® (Psychiatric & Referral Services), our free, 24-hour crisis line for assistance and referral, lets you speak with a trained mental health professional at any time of day. Our mission is to connect individuals and families in crisis with the right level of care for an emotional or behavioral problem—either admission to our mental health unit or referral to another hospital program, outpatient healthcare provider, community resource or support group.

Our team is trained to identify and assist individuals with suicidal tendencies. Depending on the situation, our team conducts interviews by phone or in person. You’ll receive support and encouragement to address your concerns and a referral for a variety of behavioral health needs, including:
- Psychiatric illness
- Substance abuse
- Distress
- Anxiety
- Depression
