The November Portsmouth Regional Hospital Mended Hearts program is set for Tuesday, November 8, 2011, in the hospital's classrooms from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The topic is Congestive Heart Failure.

Speaker for the session is Peter Dourdoufis, D.O., F.A.C.C., and the hospital's Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology. Congestive Heart Failure is a condition in which your heart cannot pump enough blood to meet your body's needs. Attendees will hear a discussion on Congestive Heart Failure classifications, signs, symptoms and treatment options.

Participants of the Mended Hearts Support Group develop insight and understanding about their heart disease, techniques for supporting loved ones---and above all hope for the future. Participants find comfort, develop commitment to heart healthy behaviors and motivation to live and thrive by learning from the experiences of others with the same problems and challenges.
